New Quarry Piece Explores Conflicts Among Coastal Inhabitants
STONINGTON — The coast of Maine is a habitat for many creatures — sea, animal and human — and their coexistence is the focus of a new performance at the Settlement Granite Quarry. “Q2: Habitat,” an Opera House Arts production, follows on the success of “Quarryography,” which was performed during the 2006-07 season. The production “depicts the tensions and demands made on beautiful coastal places from Martha’s Vineyard to the Maine coast by the diverse populations which claim these properties as their own,” said Linda Nelson, opera house director.
