When Sedgwick Elementary School Principal Don Buckingham challenged the student body to the “Great Race,” the response was enthusiastic and swift. The challenge was open to all students in grades one through eight, but they had to qualify to participate and earn the opportunity to beat their principal to the finish line. 26 qualified participants were cheered on to victory against their principal, known affectionately as Dr. B.
