Talent was on display last weekend at Sumner Memorial High School's Cabaret 2009, an annual event that dates back to the late 1960s. The cabaret, which was staged March 20, 21 and 22, is put on by the Music Department as a fundraiser, but is open to any student brave enough to get on stage and sing, dance, play a musical instrument, or act in a comedy routine. Proceeds are used to finance student trips to New York City or other cities. Parents donate the pies for the Friday and Saturday night dessert and also help students and staff serve the dinner the evening of the final performance.—STAFF PHOTOS BY JACQUELINE WEAVER
