Civilians and superheroes alike teamed up to cleanse one corner of the planet on April 18, as part of the 2010 Harbor Cleanup. The event was organized by Ed “Diver Ed” Monat and the League of Underwater Superhoroes (LUSH) in celebration of Earth Day. More than 30 volunteers showed up at the Bar Harbor town pier to help haul junk off of the harbor floor. Items recovered included old bottles, bits of clay pipe, a toaster and a computer.
