The Castine Yacht Club hosted a talk by Brooklin yacht designer Robert Stevens, sailor and entrepreneur Donald Tofias and mariner extraordinaire Havilah Hawkins describing the relationship between the Stevens-designed Race Horse, a new flat out racer launched by Brooklin Boat Yard for Tofias, and Vela, a traditional gaff-rigged sloop based on 19th century New York pilot boats, designed, built and sailed by Hawkins. — STEPHEN RAPPAPORT
