Shortly after 6 p.m. on March 6, the Mariaville Volunteer Rescue and Fire Department clowns tipped off against the Beech Hill School PeeWees. Kolby Hendrix, Ellie Commack, Ebon Commack, Spencer Stone, Kare McDonough, Isaac Jordan, Tanner Ashley, Ashlee Barnes, Shyra Call and Jesse Kimble, members of the third and fourth grades, led by coach Arthur Stone and assistant coach Jason Kimble, dribbled and shot to a halftime score of 24-9. The clowns, Everett “Smoke” Austin, Damon “Wig Wag” Bell, Ann Austin, Craig Noble, Tyler Beck and Karen “RES Q” Murray, assisted by sixth-grader Spencer Baron, were outfoxed.
