Veterans organizations, high school bands, Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, fire departments and many others turned out Monday for Memorial Day parades and observances in Ellsworth, Brooklin, Castine, Franklin, Gouldsboro, Hancock, Bucksport, Surry, Winter Harbor, Blue Hill, Mount Desert Island, Stonington, Cherryfield and Sullivan, among other area towns.
