Six standing sculptures, carved from locally quarried stone, were unveiled Wednesday at a closing ceremony for the 2011 Schoodic International Sculpture Symposium at Fisher Field in Prospect Harbor. In coming months, the public artworks will be erected in the towns of Blue Hill, Hancock, Sorrento, Roque Bluffs, Addison and Eastport. Several hundred people turned out to honor the artists, hailing from all over the globe, who spent six intensive weeks creating the pieces.
