Deer Isle-Stonington Grads Looking Confidently Toward the Future : DEER ISLE — Though they’ve been told their high school years would be the best years of their lives, 24 graduating seniors at Deer Isle-Stonington High School politely disagreed Sunday, telling scores of friends and family members at commencement that the best is yet to come. “We’ve heard over and over again that these are the best years of our lives. Well, I hope not,” Audra Eaton said during her valedictory address. “Our schooling may be over, but our education continues. I know it will not end here for us.
