Fenceviewer  > School > 2008 > Fire Day
On Friday, Oct. 17, members of the Mariaville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department spent the day with the students at the Beech Hill School in Otis. This annual event teaches students how and when to make a 911 call; allows them to examine gear close-up and try some on; see the consequences of a simulated roll-over; assist with an ATV accident; culminating with a puppet show presented by the 5th grade. The learning continued on Saturday, Oct. 18, with the Ellsworth Fire Department’s smoke house set up at the school and open to the public to explore. CATHERINE MCKINNEY PHOTOS
