BAR HARBOR — Hinckley Yachts and Mount Desert Island High School have combined forces to bring a cutting-edge technology into the industrial technology program. Students enrolled in George Deans’ boat-building course will get exposure to a process of molding fiberglass hulls called the resin infusion process. They are building an 8-foot composite dinghy. The technique is relatively new to the marine world, which makes the offering at the high school level that much more unusual.—STAFF PHOTOS BY JEFF WALLS
