Herr Dominates Mount Desert Island Marathon : David Herr’s name is becoming synonymous with the Mount Desert Island Marathon. On Oct. 18, the Canaan, Vt. Resident won his fourth consecutive running of the event, finishing in 2:35:22, nearly a minute and a half faster than last year’s time of 2:36:45. This is Herr’s sixth win in the event’s eight-year history.

New Croquet Court is Dedicated in Sorrento : The coastal town dedicated it first croquet court July 24. The Sorrento Croquet Club came about three summers ago. Croquet is known for its camaraderie and the pretty settings where courts are located. The new Sorrento court is at Sorrento Point and is bordered by tennis courts on two sides. The Sorrento court is said to be the second largest in the area.
